How CollabCite Works

1. Join

Choose your category (Full Member, Postgraduate Member or Student Associate) and enter your name, email, institution, field and date of birth. All members must be 18 or older.

Verify your academic identity in one of three ways:

• an institutional email, confirmed with a one-time code;
• an ORCID iD, connected by signing in to ORCID;
• an uploaded faculty, PhD or college ID card, checked manually by our team.

Accept the membership terms, privacy policy and integrity policy, then pay the annual fee online by UPI, card or net banking. Once verification passes, your account is activated and you receive a unique membership ID, for example CC-2026-000123, with a welcome guide.

2. Connect

Complete your research profile: interests, methods, publications, ORCID iD and whether you are open to collaborate. Join interest groups in your field. Your dashboard suggests matching researchers and open calls.

3. Collaborate

1. Post a collaboration call with the topic, paper type, skills needed, timeline and number of co-authors, or apply to someone else’s call with a short note.
2. The person who posted the call reviews applicants’ profiles and accepts the right people.
3. Every team member signs an authorship agreement before work starts, covering roles, author order and expected contribution.
4. The team works together, logging contributions and milestones. Private project rooms are coming in our next phase.
5. When the paper is done, the team chooses a good journal using our Resources, or answers an opportunity we have emailed, and submits through that journal’s own system.
6. The completed project goes on each member’s verified collaboration record.

4. Stay informed

Our team finds and checks opportunities (calls for papers, book reviews and edited book chapters) and confirms each is genuine and charges no publication fee. Each one is posted on the website and emailed to members. Expired opportunities move to an archive automatically.

5. Protect the community

If you come across a predatory or rule-breaking journal, report it. Our team reviews every report manually, may ask the journal to respond, and decides one of three outcomes: no breach, a warning, or delisting. Reporters’ identities are kept confidential.

Renewal

Membership runs for one year. We send renewal reminders seven days and one day before it ends.
