These Membership Terms (“Terms”) apply to everyone who joins or uses CollabCite (“CollabCite”, “we”, “us”) at collabcite.com. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Integrity Policy.
1. What CollabCite is
CollabCite is a collaboration platform for researchers. It helps members find co-authors, form research teams and receive curated research opportunities. CollabCite is not a journal directory and does not find, recommend or guarantee publication outlets. Any opportunity or resource we share is for information; decisions about where and whether to submit work are yours.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must complete verification of your academic identity and choose the category that truthfully describes you: Full Member, Postgraduate Member or Student Associate.
- You may hold only one account. Accounts are personal and cannot be shared or transferred.
3. Verification and membership ID
We verify members through an institutional email, ORCID iD or uploaded academic ID. We may ask for further information and may refuse or revoke membership where verification fails or information is false. Each verified member receives a unique membership ID. The Verify a Member page shows only your name, category and membership status.
4. Fees and renewal
- Membership is annual. Current fees are shown on the Plans and Pricing page and include GST.
- Inaugural prices apply to the first year only, for a limited number of founding members.
- Membership runs for 12 months from activation. We send reminders before it ends. Membership is not renewed without your action unless you have chosen automatic renewal.
- Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
- We may change fees for future membership years with reasonable notice. Changes never apply to a year you have already paid for.
5. Member category rules
Student Associates may join projects and answer calls, and may start a project only with a Full Member as mentor or co-lead. Student Associates may keep only a limited number of open collaboration calls at a time. An authorship agreement is required whenever a student joins a project.
6. Your conduct
You agree to:
- keep your profile accurate and up to date;
- follow the Integrity Policy, including the ban on citation trading, plagiarism and fake profiles;
- respect other members’ privacy and contact preferences, and use member information only for genuine research collaboration;
- not use CollabCite for advertising, marketing, spam or soliciting payments;
- not scrape, copy or export other members’ data;
- not upload unlawful, defamatory or infringing material.
7. Collaboration between members
Collaborations are agreements between members. CollabCite provides tools such as authorship agreements but is not a party to any collaboration and is not responsible for the conduct, work or disputes of members. We may help mediate where our policies are breached.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you post, such as your profile, research ideas and files. You give CollabCite a limited licence to host and display it to the people you choose, only to run the platform. Do not post confidential or unpublished work you are not prepared to share with your collaborators.
9. Opportunities and partner journals
We check opportunities and partner journals with care, but we cannot guarantee the conduct of third parties. If you notice a problem, report it so that we can review it. Acceptance, rejection and publication decisions rest with the relevant journal, editor or publisher.
10. Suspension and termination
We may warn, suspend or remove a member who breaches these Terms or the Integrity Policy, after reviewing the facts. Serious breaches, such as fake identity or citation trading, may lead to immediate removal without refund. You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us.
11. Availability and liability
We work to keep CollabCite available and secure but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to CollabCite is limited to the membership fee you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will notify members of material changes by email or on the website before they take effect.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms: hello@collabcite.com or the contact form.
